Growing up in Hyde Park, I learned to love my community like I love my family. I was born here, I was raised here, and I stayed here. As a working mother of six, I learned quickly that I could not sit on the sidelines for the issues facing our community. I began advocating for better education, a safer neighborhood, and a stronger community. Although juggling multiple jobs, multiple children, and multiple community organizations proved challenging at times, I Made it Happen, because I love this neighborhood and can't wait to keep fighting for it every day.
Building on a family tradition of belief and love for community, I have committed my life to being a passionate, dedicated
